Desire > Fear: Why manifesting is not working for most people.

2 minutes read

Stop worshipping the space between where you want to be and where you are now.

Yeees. Starting this week's issue with some juicy brain candy ^

You're reading Off-grid journal, a series of raw insights about scaling my design studio purposefully and traveling the world in the process. I'm Maia, and this newsletter is part of About:/Blank®

Hola amigos ☺︎ first two weeks in Europe after eight months in Asia. It felt like waking up from a long, long dream.

Coming from a very simple life in Asia, living in cabins by the beach and barely spending any money to spending twelve euros on a salad that looks like the waiter dropped half on the way to the table. Damn.

Back to the grid and matrix ass looking people with airpods!!!

Suddenly, the thought I mastered in Asia came back like an old friend: "I'm not working hard enough".

I started noticing that all my focus was dumped into what I was not doing.

Where focus goes energy flows

Most people think manifesting and all this new age shit doesn't work because we are constantly thinking of what we DON'T want instead of what we want.

But the truth is, the mind is very obedient when we point it intentionally.

Someone that is sick can pray, manifest or visualize not being sick:

"I don't want to be sick anymore, please something heal this sickness, please something disappear this disease"

Or, they can focus on what they actually want, which is being healthy:

"I want to be healthy, I want to live a life where health is abundant"

What messages are you sending into your mind? Are you asking for the very thing you want, or are you constantly circling back to thoughts of things you don't?

Change the script

Change the narrative, write out all the things you want. Be greedy. Ask for more, visualize it as if it already happened. Forget about what you don't want and sink in the fact that you are the creator of your reality.

Short Issue cuz the main message is so simple, so so simple, that understanding it is the complicated part: focus on what you want, not on what you don't.

This issue was powered by this Bossa nova playlist with my favorite Brazilian trax and more bread, basil and cheese than my body can possibly process.

✨ Thank you for reading! See ya next Issue!
